New Neil Diamond EP
Tuesday, September 15 is the official release date of Stratocruiser's STRATOCRUISER PLAYS NEIL DIAMOND EP. The release is only digital and will be available through iTunes, Amazon and other online outlets. The tracks are "Cherry Cherry", "kentucky Woman", "America" and "I Am, I Said". Bundled with the EP is a most Diamondesque track from their latest CD Eggshells, "Make It WorK'.



New Vinyl 45 on the way!
Stratocruiser are hard at work finishing up a new vinyl 45 -- "Kids Hate Rock and Roll" b/w "That Phone Call". Plans are to have it out by the Charlotte Pop Fest.




Film Soundtrack -- Hellphone
Stratocruiser has also contributed a track to to Hellphone. Hellphone is a new indie horror film with comic elements written, produced and directed by Jason Pierce, co-produced by SV2 Studios. "That Phone Call" will be the end title track.


New Christmas Song
Tuesday, November 18 will see the release of Stratocruiser's 4th annual Christmas Single. This is their first new song released since the new CD "eggshells" hit the shelves on August 19 of this year. This is a brand new track and it's titled "Thank You Christmas" and it's jangle slice of yuletide guitar pop. Bouncy, happy & upbeat... you cannot be without this tune this holiday season. New (sorta) Bass Player
2008 saw the departure of longtime Strato-bassist Jack Getz. Jack had to bow out due to career and family concerns. After auditioning several candidates and fill-in by Clay and Raleigh's Chris Miller, Stratocruiser have rehired their old bass player Jeremy Boomhower for the slot. Jeremy has been playing for T-Rox and other bands, Stratocruiser welcomes him back with open arms.

On October 8 Stratocruiser played an outdoor show to celebrate the grand re-opening of Kernersville NC's downtown business district. Here is a video clip courtesy of News 14 Carolina.

Stratocruiser's new CD has recieved airplay in Hawaii, Australia, California, New Jersey, Coloroado and a few commercial stations in North Carolina.


New Record!
August 19, 2008 sees the PHYSICAL release of Egg Shells, the new collecion of songs from Stratocruiser. Recorded in their home studio, Egg Shells is a full on rock record with a crunchy pop crust. Guitars layered with vocal harmonies and slathered with mellotrons and Hammond B3's and then held together by ferocious yet solid drumming and smoothly undulating 4, 8 & 12 string basses. Only two guests appear on this record. A tambourine track by former Who drummer Simon Phillips appears on the title track and the venerable Peter Holsapple (dB's, Hootie, Continental Drifters, REM) plays keyboards and mandolin on the entire record. ROLLING GREEN EP
Stratocruiser has released a new CD-EP featuring "Rolling Green Fields" from the new CD, a cover of the Osmonds' 1972 smash "Crazy Horses","Cracked Up" from the new CD, A live version of "Heavy Heavy Daze" from Sparklefest 2006 (with Mitch Easter guesting on guitar!) and a remix of Suburban Contemporary's "#28". This EP will be available through online pop retailers like Kool Kat Musik, Jam & Not Lame. You can order it directly from Stratocruiser HERE or it will be available through online retailers such as Jam, Kool Kat and Not Lame in early October. You can also get it at shows starting with the Carrboro Music Festival date on September 30.

Another show with World Party!
September 15th, 2006 saw Stratocruiser once again supporting World Party. This show was at the Lincoln Theatre in Downtown Raleigh, NC as part of SparkCon. A great time was had by all.

Waterstone Guitars CHRISTMAS EP
In cooperation with Waterstone Guitars of Nashville, Stratocruiser is readying a new Christmas EP with a new Christmas song, "Mod Guitar Christmas" as well as including their holiday songs from years past ("Last Christmas, Girl" & "Holidaze") and another tune to be revealed later. The EP will be available thru most outlets as well as locally in NC and Tennessee. Stay tuned for more details!
