Promoter
| Mike is the creator of Sparklefest. The first Sparklefest (then named "The Shindig") took place in 2000 at King's Barcade in Raleigh, NC. Since then Sparklefest has randomly rotated from Chapel Hill, NC back to Raleigh. Mike is a musician - he is the guitarist/songwriter in Stratocruiser. Mike also runs a recording studio, is the graphic designer for a national magazine and is a father of two cool kids and married the coolest wife ever. He lives in Pittsboro, NC. |
Co-Promoter
| Scott is the former road manager for the soul-rock band Hobex that features ex-members of Dillon Fence. He also runs his own record label, Just Plain Lucky Records. He went to high school in Greensboro, NC with Mike way back when. Scott went to UNC-Charlotte. He lives in Greensboro and has a popular radio show on WQFS Radio 90.9. |
Account - Door Girl
| Anna is Mike's wife. She is really chill. But hot. Thorough, no nonsense and damn sexy. Her favorite band is Uriah Heep or Slade or Nazareth or early Elton John. |
Merchandise Manager
| Hannah is Mike's daughter. She is 18. She has been doing Merch at Sparklefest since 2002. Sharp as a tack and sweet as suger but don't cross her... she runs the merch tables with an Iron Fist! Hannah also does merch at Heavy Rebel Weekender, the badass premier Rockabilly-Honkytonk-Punk festival in the world. She is a student at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. |
Assistant Promoter - A&R
| Michael helps suggest what bands are picked for the festival. He know everyone. He wants to know you. He is really, really nice. He is your friend. Michael fronted the Saving Graces and Neidermeyer and played for Speck, Wafer Thin & Lovely Crashes. He has a new CD out on Just Plain Lucky. It rocks. |
Assistant Promoter - A&R - Graphics
| Clay also helps suggest what bands are picked for Sparklefest as well as taking care of marketing and design for the festival. Clay is tall. He has a wife and four kids. Clay is the singer, co-songwriter and second guitarist in Stratocruiser with Mike. He also has played with Barely White, Diggin' Taters, Crushed Velvet Jones and others. Swell guy! Stage Tech
| Little is known about Dan. He might be homeless. He just shows up whenever Sparklefest is happening. We let him move things around. He likes things that are shiny. Please tip him as he always looks hungry. Dan keeps talking about a band he's in called Dairy Fresh and about a solo CD he released a few years back. Nice guy. |
